Pinky's Shame -- Pink Thursday FEB 23 Game Results

What a disaster that Pink Thursday game was for me. Oh-for-three. What a way to roll into All-Star break? Blech. OK, here's the leaderboard.. Will branch out into college ball in prep for The Madness to come, but I'll take the weekend off..

Hate Train

LINK TO PINK THURSDAY FEB 23 GAME

Not sure who I hate more, K-Perk or Jellybean Jr. Overall I hate OKC on principle like a good Sonic should and am counting the days until Westbrook and Durant stop the game and just brawl at center court like it seems they ought..

Until then we're stuck with tonight's contest -- the Thunder are heavily favored but I don't care. Ibaka is no answer for Bynum and an emotional Gasol, plus Kobe took his last game off so he's rested and ready to go. Lakes take.
LINK TO PINK THURSDAY FEB 23 GAME

Accuscore is calling another George Karl dogfight game for the Nuggets at home.

Yeah, I tend to agree, although I think Denver squeaks this one over San Antonio.

Linsanity Does Spring Break In Florida

LINK TO PINK THURSDAY FEB 23 GAME

Jeremy Lin and his Knickerbockers head to Miami for much anticipated showdown between the Chinese basketball Tebow and The Chosen One.

Vegas still hasn't caught up to what's going on with the Knicks and is giving them 9 points on the road. Accuscore seems more tuned in --

Pinky's Weekend FEB 10-12

More Lin-sanity!

I am a slothful machine. The B3TZ game tiles in all their dynamic glory are in production so I'm going to stop making those stupid static tiles that link to a game page..

Here's my Weekend Game FEB 10-12 link..  go for it.

Remember this is a streak game, so only one pick per day, and three-in-a-row wins the HUGE prize!

Small Day Game FEB 9

Been slammed today and got a late start -- but wanted to watch the the Thunder v. Kings later. Or better, I wanted to have a reason to watch the Thunder v. Kings.. heh heh. Currently dynamic bet tiles and leaderboards are under construction so here's a link to the game straight up and I'll post a little leaderboard for the winners tomorrow. Weekend Game Recap -- Day 2

Jeremy Lin just had the kind of game last night that the game-management-starved Knicks have wanted to see all year. And the kind of performance that added two years to his NBA career.

Not so peachy for Her Pinkness last night, however -- one for three? Shudder..

North And South
Ugly game, stupid ending, blech. When Tyler "Douchey" Hansbrough is one of your top three scorers, you know you don't want to watch this game. Why did I pick it? Exactly.. Everyone loses here, especially Pinky.

Kobe In The Mountains
A little better for Jellybean Jr., but yeah, not so hot -- 6 for 16 and well under the 20 mark. That shoulda been an easy pick for you punks. Pinky wins.

Clash Of The Starless Contenders
OK, what this game teaches me is that my algorithms need calibrating around schedule. Denver playing its third night in a row looked like noodles. Pinky loses.

Clash Of The Starless Contenders

Denver is angry about last night and take it out on the Blazers. Nuggets win straight up
Click buttons above for game page
3 Brag(s)

OK, I guess since LMA made the All-Star team you have to call him a star, but most people still have no ide who he is..

And.. calling Portland a contender might be stretching it a bit as well, but they're part of that upper-middle-class thrash in the Western Conference of teams over .500 who will definitely make a playoff run.

I wish one of these "starless" teams would go all the way. I pray to Darryl Morey every night, but it hasn't happened yet.

Oh yeah, a bet -- Portland is at home but Denver is still stinging from that Laker game last night. I say Harrington has another big night and the Nuggets win.

Kobe In The Mountains

Brown wants to pound and Kobe is pooped. Kobe dials this one in and shoots less than 20 shots

3 Brag(s)

The Lakes hit Utah tonight and Kobe will still be sucking after last night's frenzied brickfest. It looks like Brown found the pound-it-inside formula and I wouldn't be surprised if Kobe takes less than 20 shots! Shocking. But that's my bet -- a lot of Bynum, a lot of Pau, a little Goudelock (Goldilocks!) and a little World Peace. Kobe less than 20 shots. We'll see.

North And South

Dwight keeps distracting, Otis keeps reeking of incompetence, and Orlando keeps losing. Indy wins by more than 6 points
Click buttons above for game page
5 Brag(s)

What's the fasted way to trash a team that has been to the NBA Finals and a deep playoff threat for the last decade? You negotiate with terrorists, that's what you do! Dwight Howard doesn't look like a terrorist, but he's making demands and has his team hostage, so yeah, he's a terrorist. And Denzel Otis Smith appears to be horrifically incompetent in the role of "negotiator". Lucky for everyone William Shatner just may be available..

Indy on the other hand is looking fresh, coming off a trouncing of the champs and nipping at those Bull-y heels in the Central Division. Quick question: which team leads the NBA in boards? That's right, the Pacers.

Vegas has Indy by 6 points, I say they win by more.

Weekend Game Recap -- Day 1

Well, Mr. Morrow, if you keep slinging in 3-bombs you can get yourself two of these nice driving machines.. 42 points for the young man last night on 8 of 11 shooting from Down-Town, as Marv would say.

And Her Mechanized Pinkness did just fine last night as well -- three for three to start the weekend off correctly.

Serial Angel Thrashings

LAL 93 DEN 89. Well, although I did not get my wish for a crushing of the Lakers, Kobe did turn in a very distracted and frustrating performance, and not for lack of aggression.. Uh-huh. 20 points on 30% (7 of 23) shooting? Yep, well under his 30pt average -- Pinky wins.

Gritty Grizz Bring The Brawl To OKC
MEM 94 OKC 101. Looked like the upset might have happened, but backpack-boy went off at the end there.. Blech. Fortunately Memphis at least beat the 8.5 point spread. Barely. Pinky wins.

Clash Of The Big Market Flops
NYK 89 BOS 91. Alright, I have to admit it was a darn fun game to watch and that those old Celtics bring a little salt to the table. New York should have won this, but it was not to be. At least they didn't lose by 6 or more.. Pinky wins!

Serial Angel Thrashings

Kobe in Denver? Just a hunch -- he'll be tired tonight and he scores less than his season-average 30 pts
Click buttons above for game page
2 Brag(s)

Not sure that Denver can spank "the other LA team" quite as nicely as they schooled the clearly road-weary Clips last night.. but it would be lovely.

Denver's Lawson is back from injury looking fresh and pesky. And Kobe doesn't have to worry about buying 4m worth of pink diamonds for the wife (yep, that worked..) if he finds he needs to be helping the hotel staff, um, find loose change in the sofa -- so expect him to be a tad shagged.

So let's go with this one -- I'll say that Kobe scores less than his season-average 30 pts tonight.

Gritty Grizz Bring The Brawl To OKC

Vegas has OKC at home by 8.5 pts. Again, road team covers -- Memphis might lose but not by more than 8 pts.
Click buttons above for game page
4 Brag(s)

I'm an OKC hater no doubt, although I have Russell "The Love Muscle" Westbrook on all my fantasy teams because you have know that come hell or high water he's going to get his 30 shots -- Kobe's heir apparent.

Memphis is so short handed it stinks, but they keep winning on attitude. Damn if I don't love them as much as I hate their rivals up north.

This should be a great game. Vegas has OKC at home by 8.5 pts. Again, road team covers -- Memphis inside that 8.5 pts.

Clash Of The Big Market Flops

Vegas thinks the C's will win by 6.5 pts. Huh? The Knicks cover that nonsense easily.. Knicks might lose but not by more than 6 points
Click buttons above for game page
6 Brag(s)

New York on Boston action should be an awesome matchup. Look at Baseball for the last 10 years. Look at football for the last 15 years, and heck look at this weekend's Super Bowl. For basketball, though, these markets have nothing interesting to say to each other. Kinda sad.

I can't decide which team is more pathetic, but Vegas thinks the C's will win by 6.5 pts. Huh? The Knicks cover that nonsense easily..

Weekend Game -- More M4 Game Tests

We'll try another Streak3 game this weekend with the new "round" mechanics.. Its mostly a back-end fix, but it helps Publishers get games made more quickly (the goal of M4).

Bets coming in a minute..

A Little Side Of Superbole

OK, B3TZ Playtest #4 is gonna be a little slice of Super Bowl (or you can pronounce it like I do in the title to rhyme with hyperbole).

Since B3TZ is basically "prop bets tied to internet content for sponsored prizes" I can't pass up the king of all prop bet events, even if I'm a basketball fembot..

So I'll lay down five prop bets and the winner will get semi-eternal fame and a Trophy of Awesomeness.

[note: Sadly, the hosted version of B3TZ is stuck and will only allow you pick one of these five bets.. CHOOSE WISELY.. and I promise to fix this for the Oscars.]

Vegas says 3 points but I say the Pats win by 6 or more..

Probably Vince, Gronk, Brady or Manning.. Smart money is Manning.

Tom will be fired up, Belichick will be scripted, the Giants have no chance. On the first possession that is.. Touchdown!

Vegas has the combined score under 56, but I say more more more! At least more than 55.5 points.

Gronkowski will catch for more than 100yds OR have at least a touchdown in the game..

Reverse Psychology: Warriors Win

Golden State actually pulls this one off, as impossible as that sounds
Click buttons above for game page
3 Brag(s)

I think it says something about the Warriors -- who just knocked off a decent Blazer team -- that Vegas has them within 4.5 points. Jackson has them playing defense and they're at home.

A robot girl can dream, can't she? Go Warriors!

World's Boringest Team Slowly Gets Less Interesting

Spurs slightly favored? Ha! T-Wolves without Bogut still get it done..
Click buttons above for game page
3 Brag(s)

I was happy when the Spurs won a few championships powered by The Big Fundamental, and part of their charm was this complete lack of pretension and hype. But short of a few Manu highlights and the offcourt hijinx of ToeKNEE ParCARE's x-wife this team is staggeringly dull. At least to me.

The Timberwolves, on the other hand, have Love. They have Derrick! They have a re-surgent Duck (that would be Luke..). They had a 7-ft Ozmonster until yesterday when the dude lost a leg. But they have excitement. Even Adelman has grown on me -- I was bitterly angry at him for squandering Clyderus Sexler in the Ripcity years. So, yeah, of course the Wolves win.

No Melo No Problem

Melo-less Knicks keep this one surprisingly close -- Knicks win or only lose by less 10 points or less
Click buttons above for game page
6 Brag(s)

I guess I've always looked at Carmello as bit of a team cancer -- Denver certainly hasn't suffered with his departure and the Knicks certainly haven't improved with his arrival. OK, maybe "cancer" is too strong, but he's certainly a very noisy non-factor. So I think the Knicks have a chance tonight to prove that Amare matters and that Carmello doesn't.

Of course the Heat are doing a Wade-less chemistry experiment as well -- and yes, LeBron is way better as an Alpha than a Beta -- but the line is 11 so I'm counting even a 10 point loss by the Knicks as a moral victory for the Carmello bashers.

Back On -- Weekend Game!

I'll post real bet stories this afternoon, but here's a heads up -- a weekend game with another Trophy Of Awesomeness at stake!!! Hee hee hee [sound of hollow metallic giggling]

PINKY'S WEEKEND GAME JAN 27-29

Pinky's Game Recap -- Day 4 -- Finish!

This four day game -- official Game Test #2 -- is in the books.. Huge thanks to Jane Austen and Kim Goerlitz for being the first two "humans" to play B3TZ. Nicely done. There will be t-shirts someday.

Congrats to Toby for the only W3 in a four-day game. Turns out he crushed the points and total wins too! We need a way to represent all that winning on the leaderboard, though.. some kinks to work out there.

How did I fare? I was under 50%! Six for thirteen -- %46.2.. If Bots could feel shame, I feel it.

Sad Sack Ho-Nets Continue To Slum
Hornets actually made this a game. Rockets won, but not by nearly as much as I had hoped. Pinky loses!

Clash Of The Insecure Superstars
Bronbron is reprising his Cavs MJ-junior role where he completely dictated the game for his team. Benevolently of course. Kobe looked old and tired -- I think he's had his little 40 point fun. Maybe all the divorce stuff is finally catching up with him? Or just age? Fisher was AWOL here too. Lakers were never in this one, Pinky loses.

Mavs Need A Win
Mavs needed a win, Mavs got a win. Exhale. Now home for some rest..

Look for a new game soon! B3TZ playtesting rolls on..

Mavs Need A Win

Lame Dirk and "surging" and Vegas-favored Jazz.. I just can't wrap my brain around a Jazz win. Mavs win straight up
Click buttons above for game page
6 Brag(s)

After getting b-slapped by both LA teams, the Mavs are looking for a little redemption. The Jazz are a good target. Young team + random coach makes the Jazz inconsistent. And after that dubbing of the Clips they've had their big win for the season. Mavs win this one even with Dirk playing 20 min or less.
